Kota Doria, Saree, Saris, Women Dresses

Kota Doria sari is one of many types of textiles created in made in Kota, Rajasthan and neighbouring areas
Kota saris are made of pure cotton and silk displaying self checkered patterns known as “khats” on them.

The checkered weave of a Kota sari is very popular, woven intricately with fine yarns giving an ultimate lightweight sheer elegance to the wearer. Kota saris display individuality when paired with embroidery and border patches, making them fully exclusive styles we display in our selections.

Originally, such saris were called Masuria because they were originally woven in Mysore.
The weavers were shifted to Kota early 18th century and the saris came to be known as 'Kota-Masuria'.

Rajasthan Handloom Development Corporation (RHDC) creates an opportunity for widespread use of this textile other than saris such as lampshades, curtains, skirts and suits from the Kota Doria and thereby bring a textile to a wider market.
