One of the finest sections of Weaveinindia saris is our assortment of Patan Patolas, authentically from Patan Gujarat. Patan Patolas were originally worn only by aristocrats due to the fine craftsmanship that is painstaking and time consuming to weave into a final sari. This beautiful selection is a sombre Navy blue sari depicting the traditional "Nari Kunjar" motif: Parrot, Human figure, Elephant and Peacocks. It has the typical geometrical square encasing each motif symbolizing security giving it that traditional identity found in Patan Patolas. The contrast red border with colourful Flower motifs has horizontal stripes running along the length and the red pallu also has flower and floral motifs. The motifs are large with several intricacies, increasing the complexity and effort involved in dyeing and weaving thereby marking Patola weaving under high accuracy of the weaving techniques. This sari does not come with a blouse.
