A collector's Item - iconic Four figure Patan patola sari also known as Nari kunjar . This Red double Ikat Patan Patola in smooth silk and a self red border with yellow and green stripes has signature motifs of kunjar (elephants), tota (parrots), phul (flowers) and nari (human figures) in squares. The squares denote security, and the motifs are considered to be auspicious symbols of saubhagya. Double Ikat, a centuries-old weave, has its origins in Patan in the Northern regions of Gujarat. It involves a very intricate and laborious process of tie-dying on the warp and weft separately before weaving. Enduring colours and endearing designs make the Patan Patola a highly respected weave, acknowledged by connoisseurs as a traditional, valuable, vintage process that needs to be recognized, preserved and revered. The two-way pallu has floral motifs and a small strip of gold zari. No blouse comes with this masterpiece.
